I wanted to write this, but I was busy playing solitaire on my iPad. It’s something I do to pass the time. As it turns out there are lots of lessons to be taken from the game of solitaire.

  • Look carefully at what is in front of you; you may be missing something by turning the cards too fast.
  • Be patient and don’t give up to soon because the card you need may be just around the corner.
  • A strategy that helped you win one game can be used to win another.

Who knew you could learn from a game?

St. Michael’s Church, Plymouth, NH

People simply don’t dress for church the way they used to. It’s not just shorts and flip-flops. It’s the woman with the pink hair.

I said woman, not girl; she’s got to be over 60. She’s got a big smile on her face as she enters the pew with her husband. The top of her mostly-gray head is dyed pink—not too bright, but noticeable nonetheless. They must be regulars, the pink-haired woman and her husband, because they bring up the gifts for the Eucharist.

What makes a woman walk around with pink hair?

I guess I shouldn’t judge, huh?
