Seminal Questions

The seminal question of my life is this: if I were to face a serious moral choice, what would I do? I think about this all the time in many different ways. The serious: my ancestors owned slaves. Would I have been a slave owner, too? Or would I, as I hope, have been able to resist?

I guess it comes down to: what is my character?
